Lynnae has been certified by the Iyengar Yoga National Association of the United States and is a graduate of the two-year Teacher Training Program directed by Patricia Walden and Peentz Dubble at the BKS Iyengar Yoga Center of Greater Boston. Lynnae taught in Lexington, Massachusetts, from 2001 - 2009. She is now teaching in Plymouth, with occasional workshops in Lexington.
Her study of Iyengar Yoga began in 1982 with Ramanand Patel with additional influence from George Purvis, Mary Dunn and Arthur Killmurray, among others. For two months in 2008, Lynnae studied at the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute in Pune, India, taking classes with Geeta and Prashant Iyengar, as well as observing medical and children's classes. B.K.S Iyengar no longer teaches formal classes (he turned 90 years old in 2008) but Lynnae observed him practicing and teaching his private students.
She was part of a team of teachers that took part in the yoga intervention component for an NIH-funded study at Boston University Medical Center studying Iyengar Yoga as a healing modality for depression. The conclusion of the study showed that yoga DID make a positive difference. To view the article, click on the following link: http://www.liebertonline.com/doi/abs/10.1089/acm.2010.0007
In addition to attending Iyengar Yoga Conventions bi-annually since she was certified, she was one of 800 certified teachers in the spring of 2009 when Geeta Iyengar taught therapeutic yoga.
In October 2009 she was co-chair of the Registration Committee at Shining Light on New England, the first regional Iyengar Yoga Conference held in Providence, RI, where over 400 students of Iyengar Yoga at every skill and experience level studied asana and pranayama with the finest teachers in NE and from across the country.
Lynnae assisted Patricia Walden and Peentz Dubble at their Teacher Training in Cambridge, MA, 2009-2011. She has assisted Peentz Dubble for several years and continues to study regularly with Patricia Walden, Peentz Dubble.

Lynnae has also studied anatomy at the Kripalu Yoga Center in Western Massachusetts and with Julie Gudmestad (a certified Iyengar Yoga teacher and physical therapist) in Portland, Oregon. She also studied yoga for scoliosis with Elise Browning Miller and has attended several intensives with Donald Moyer.
In addition to her love of yoga, Lynnae brings to her students her background and interest in Vipassana meditation, nutrition and other healing arts. Her goal in her teaching is to combine the precision and discipline of the Iyengar style of yoga with an intimate and relaxed class environment that is suitable for beginner through intermediate students.
"I love your yoga class, BOTH because of the way my body feels afterwards
and the stretching and straightening awareness that I've been trying
to integrate into every day, but ALSO because of your realness and warmth.
You give so much, including so much attention to our individual
needs, in each class....You and yoga are a wonderful addition to my week/life!
Thanks!" --Arny Berger, psychologist
